* Trained puppies are a great way to start out with a new family member that is already housebroken, crate trained, past the nippy puppy stage and has received obedience training. Your puppy will be on leash trained and know the commands below:

Training Commands

  • Sit
  • Down
  • Come
  • Sit & Stay, (3 minutes)
  • Down & Stay, (3 minutes)
  • Loose leash walk, (no pulling)
  • Kennel, (go into his/her crate)
  • Fetch, (retrieve a ball)
  • No, (stop negative behavior)
  • Out, (release an object to the handler)
  • Ok, (release from a command, dog is free to go play)

Your Golden puppy will be trained to . . . .

  • Be housebroken as they have been raised in a home, (puppies still need to be put outside on a regular basis as they have puppy sized bladders)
  • Be calm in the house
  • Sit for greeting and petting
  • Stay off the furniture unless invited with an “up”

Your Golden puppy will be trained NOT to . . . .

  • Jump on family or guests
  • Nip or mouth people or other pets
  • Steal food off counters, tables, or from children
  • Bark excessively

Puppy Socialization program

*Our puppy socialization program’s goal is to give your puppy the best start possible. You should continue to socialize your puppy by taking him/her out of the house as often as possible, to as many different places as you can.

* During your puppy’s time with us he/she will be exposed to:

  • Children, (our kids as well as their friends)
  • Multiple adults, (family, clients, strangers, etc.)
  • Cats, (our indoor cats as well as outdoor neighborhood cats)
  • Veterinary appointments so that they are comfortable at the vet and find the experience positive
  • Regular baths so that they are comfortable and calm for grooming, ear cleaning and nail trims
  • Car travel
  • Trips to local parks
  • Trips to schools
  • Trips to kids’ soccer/baseball games, etc.
  • Trips to outdoor malls
  • Trips to pet stores and home depot, (as well as other dog friendly indoor establishments)
  • Trips to local hiking areas to walk/hike around other dogs and wildlife, (squirrels, birds, rabbits, etc.)
